Jennifer Hope
The new music of singer and songwriter Jennifer Hope can be described as an intertwining of Alternative and Rock music. Elements of Pop songwriting structures provide the basis for her songs. Listeners are enticed to experience the place where imagination crosses fantasy; where dark passions create sounds of enchanting emotions.
In the past, Jennifer Hope released two EP length CD’s, “Winds of Tomorrow” and “Reflections of an Enchanted Soul” on her independent record label, Mystic Dreams Music.
Soon after the release of Jennifer’s first EP “Winds of Tomorrow,” Cleopatra Records included her evocative track “The Sky is Blushing,” on “The Unquiet Grave Vol. 1” compilation CD of Ethereal, Gothic and Dark Wave artists. The international distribution of the compilation lead to much varied exposure including independent distribution of Jennifer’s CD’s, positive reviews in on line and print magazines and radio show air play in the US and several European countries.
Following the release of Hope’s second EP, “Reflections of an Enchanted Soul,” she contributed to Cleopatra Records “Gothic Tribute to the Cocteau Twins” with her engaging version of “Seekers who are Lovers”. Cleopatra also released her exclusive track, “Dream Within a Dream,” which appears on “A Gothic Tribute to Edgar Allan Poe”.
Cleopatra Records later included Jennifer Hope’s profound version of “Moon Baby,” on “An Acoustic Tribute to Godsmack”. Jennifer also put a new twist on Nine Inch Nails’ “Terrible Lie” for “An Acoustic Tribute to NIN”.
Building on the varied musical experiences and discoveries of the past, Jennifer Hope is currently writing and recording new material. In 2011, she independently released three new singles on iTunes. She also recorded an acoustic cover of U2s’, “With or Without You,” which has been released on Cleopatra Records’ “Acoustic Top Hits” and “Beautiful Day – A Tribute to U2″ compilation’s.
“I feel there is and for quite some time now, has been an absence of unique and genuine artistry in the majority of what is being promoted in the music business. As it continues to change, labels have put much less into developing and breaking artists who don’t “fit the formula”. Therefore, a significant and different part of the music audience is being ignored. It is very important to me that music of deeper emotions and observations continue to be expressed and shared in a way not clouded and confined by “playing it safe” or “Hollywood’s” current ideals and expectations. These kinds of artists past and present motivate the creation within me. And it is my hope that in turn my music inspires individualism and provides an outlet to go beyond the limits of everyday life.”
